Teetotaler Essentials began with a nickname, a pause, and a desire to create something meaningful.
Teetotaler was my childhood nickname. The word traditionally refers to someone who chooses to abstain from alcohol, but to me, it has come to represent something bigger: choosing what I want more of and letting go of what I don't.
In 2020, the world slowed down. And for the first time in a long time, I had the chance to notice just how tired I was.
I had been moving from one thing to the next, constantly busy and constantly taking care of what I thought were the important things. And somewhere along the way, I had put myself last.
That unexpected pause made me realize how much I needed simple moments to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with myself.
And that's where making came in.
MAKING IS MY RITUAL
Making soap, body butters, soaks, and scrubs became a release for me. It's relaxing. It's intentional. It's creative.
And there's something incredibly satisfying about making something with my own hands and knowing exactly what went into it. Making my own products also gives me a little more control over what goes on my body. I can choose the ingredients. I can think about the texture, the scent, the experience. I can decide what belongs in a product—and what doesn't.
And most importantly: I use everything I make. If I wouldn't want to use it myself, I wouldn't want to put it in your hands.
MADE WITH INTENTION
When I create a product, I think about the things that make me happy.
A scent that makes me breathe a little deeper. A rich body butter that makes my skin feel cared for. A soak that turns the end of a long day into something peaceful. A beautiful bar of soap that makes an ordinary shower feel a little more special.
I take those feelings and try to recreate them in the products I make. And I love asking people what they want. What are you looking for? What would make your routine better? What would make you feel cared for? Because there's something deeply fulfilling about creating something that makes another person happy. Making people happy and fulfilled makes me happy and fulfilled.
QUALITY IS PERSONAL
To me, quality isn't simply about using expensive ingredients or making something look beautiful. Quality means intentional, meticulously made products with a heart of love behind them.
It means wanting to make the best product possible. It means paying attention to the little things. It means choosing ingredients thoughtfully and using sustainable, locally sourced ingredients whenever I can. It means making each batch myself.
And because I make everything myself, I know that every product represents me. When I send something to you, it doesn't feel like I'm sending out a product from a warehouse. It feels like I'm sharing something I made for myself with you.

Teetotaler Essentials is handcrafted in small batches in Greensboro, North Carolina. I make each product with the hope that it gives you something beyond its basic purpose.
